Feral Goats were introduced by British Colonialists and now cover
wide areas of Australia. They are a well documented source of environmental
damage and until recent times have been regarded as pests. Currently,
they fetch prices that make them commercially viable to round up
and ship live to the Middle East. Consequently, numbers have significantly
dropped.
We are often
quizzically asked by non-hunters, "What do you hunt?" The following
are examples of the determination, investment in time and money
some of our more motivated members make, to achieve their ambitions
in recreational hunting. Most of our members are rabbit, fox, goat
and feral pig hunters. Terry is an accomplished hunter of many years
experience who generally hunts with a 7mm Remington Magnum, a truly
fine calibre with the ability to hit hard and accurately at long
distances. He is also an excellent photographer and is often recognised
in club photographic competitions.
